1 Thessalonians 5:11 suggest or instructs that we encourage one another and build each other up in Christ. This can be tough, cant it? A lot of times we don't feel as if we have the words to say or even the energy to build up those around us. Most of the time we assume not do it.....its not doing anything for us right? Well, you've ever been guilty with this mentality, which most of us have, think of it this way....

God has put numerous people in your life for you to "do" life with. These are the very people that God calls us to encourage EVERY day. Scripture also says that as long as it is called "today" we are to push others forward or consider them better than ourselves. Are we called to do this for their good? Absolutely! But in due time, you as well will reap the harvest of consistently pouring out that love and encouragement. Because of the STRENGTH they have gained from your outpouring, they will have the energy and capacity to carry and support you through your toughest times. Don't ever disregard scripture with a selfish nature. God put it there to benefit you just as much as those around us. Its for our own individual good.

Leadership

God has given each of us a place of leadership. Whether we spend our days at school, working, changing diapers, traveling, etc.; walking in a personal relationship with Christ comes with the opportunity, responsibility, and privilege of leading and guiding others to a higher, more secure place with Jesus. Whether its your sister, friend, daughter, co-worker, classmate, family member, someone in ministry, or involved at your church; someone, somewhere is looking to you for direction and answers. People need you. They need love, hope, security, direction, answers, consistency, commitment, and so much more; and God has chosen you to be His daughter so that He could give these things through you to His people.

Are you living a lifestyle that exemplifies who Jesus is? Are you able to offer peace, love, and direction to those around you? Bobbie Houston, the pastor of Hillsong Church in Australia, explained being a leader as a person who brings security to the people you are leading. However, we can not bring security if we are not secure in who we are or secure in what God has called us to do.

The world can not even begin to offer what we have. We have Jesus. They need Him. So lets strive EXTRA hard to take our integrity, our love for others, our humility, our service to the next level so that we can provide a secure, positive lifestyle for others to follow.

The world offers gossip, jealousy, bitterness, unforgiveness, competition with each other, pride, insecurity, etc. Lets rid our lives of these things so that we are SET APART and have something more attractive to offer to those desiring to follow us.

Love is in the air!

Here it is, the day before Valentine’s and everywhere you look there are little reminders of love! From the commercials on television, to the card aisle in Walmart!
Even Tuesday night at the Basement we had a good taste of what love is at our Unite service. It was called Love Revolution. If you couldn't be there we invite you to join us as we take over our city, nation, and world with LOVE!

The Bible gives beautiful descriptions of what love is, but the one that stands out the strongest is this. “No one has greater love [no one has shown stronger affection] than to lay down (give up) his own life for his friends.” John 15:13
What does it mean to lay down your life?

Simply this; put others before yourself and serve one another!

We believe it’s time for a Real Love Revolution and it all starts with you!

In light of this we just want to take a second to honor and thank some of our Whosoever Women for displaying this selfless love. Thank you for your hearts of service and willingness to lay down your life for the sake of others! Whether it be through leading in worship, selling t-shirts, working the nursery, setting up, doing name tags/emails, or loving on people you are changing lives!
Thank you for all you are!! You truly show what it means to be the hands and feet of Christ! We couldn't do this without you

Others May; You Cannot

If God has called you to be really like Jesus in all your spirit, He will draw you into a life of crucifixion & humility & will put you in such demands of obedience that you will not be allowed to follow other Christians…& in many ways He will appear to let other good people do things which He will not let you do.

Other Christians & ministers who seem very religious & useful may push themselves, pull wires & work schemes to carry out their plans but you cannot do it…& if you attempt it, you will meet with such failure & rebuke from the Lord as to make you sorely penitent.

Others may brag on themselves, on their work, on their success, on their writings, but the Holy Spirit will not allow you to do any such thing, & if you begin it, He will lead you into some deep mortification that will make you despise yourself & all your good works.

Others will be allowed to succeed in making money, or having a legacy left to them or in having luxuries, but it is likely God will keep you poor, because He wants you to have something better than gold, & that is a helpless dependence on Him, that He may have the privilege of supplying your needs day by day out of an unseen treasury.

The Lord will let others be honored & put forward & keep you hidden away in obscurity because He wants to reproduce some choice, fragrant fruit for His coming glory, which can be produced only in the shade.

He will let others be great, but keep you small. He will let others do a work for Him & get the credit for it, but He will make you toil & work on without knowing how much you’re doing. And then to make your work even more precious, He will let others get the credit for the work which you have done, & thus will make your reward ten times greater when Jesus comes.

The Holy Spirit will put a strict watch over you, with a jealous love & will rebuke you for little words & feelings or for wasting your time, which other Christians never seem distressed over. So make up your mind that God is an infinite Sovereign, & has a right to do as He pleases with His own. He will not explain to you reason in His dealings with you. He will take you at your word; & if you absolutely see yourself to be His slave, He will wrap you up in a jealous love & let other people say & do many things that you cannot do or say.

Settle it forever that you are to deal directly with the Holy Spirit & that He is to have the privilege of tying your tongue or chaining your hand or closing your eyes, in ways that He does not deal with others. And when you are so possessed with the living God that you are, in your secret heart, pleased & delighted over this peculiar, personal, private, jealous guardianship & management of the Holy Spirit over your life, you have found the vestibule of Heaven.

You know at times it may seem unfair that others can do things that you cannot do, but just remember that God has a purpose & plan for your life that only you can fulfill. I know in my life that the Lord won’t allow me to say or even do some things that other Christians can say or do, but that’s not because the Lord is unfair, but I realized that my plan & purpose that the Lord has for me won’t allow it. But everything comes back to trust. Do you trust God with your life? Do you trust His timing? Just remember…others may; you cannot…

Get in Your Position

Do you ever look at something in some one's life and wish it were yours? It is so easy for us to look at the qualities of one's life and believe that "if I only had her job.....," or "if I had her place in ministry," or "if my husband was like hers," etc. we'd be satisfied. Truth is, if we took each other's positions we'd probably become miserable. It could be fun and exciting for a short season, but long term, we'd grow weary and discontent. Why? Because God did not create you for her place in ministry, for her husband, or to work her job. He created and positioned YOU to do and live just as you are. Very few of us have discovered our individual purposes and are carrying it out in our every day life. We waste SO much of our time either wishing or trying to live out someone elses because it seems more glamours than ours. We must discover our purpose and understand that whatever God has us individually doing it is ALL WORTHY. No one in the body of Christ can fill your designed position quite like you. No one can mother your kids quite like you. No one can work that job quite like you. When we understand the power of this, we will feel complete in finding our self and grow to the point of satisfaction by knowing that we are complementing the big picture. So many of us forfeit our destinies because we refuse to grow and expand in the place God has created for us. He wants to take all of us to the next level, but few of us will experience that next level because we're not momentarily living in or living out the position that was created for us.

Lets recognize this truth and ask God to put us back in our positions so that we not only grow more content and satisfied, but that we begin to compliment the big picture of our life and for His.

"And let PATIENCE have its FULL EFFECT, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing." James 1:4

Happy Birthday, Austin!

With one-hundred fifteen surgeries behind him and claiming only one more to go, our sweet and precious friend, Austin, celebrated his 11th birthday Sunday afternoon. Regardless of the all the complications his physically body has faced; his spirit is full of energy, joy, laughter, love, and life. We celebrated with Austin at Fox's Pizza. And aside from the food, cake, and presents; Austin and his family left the party beyond blessed by the presence of each of our leaders that were there.

Thank you TEAM for your heart of compassion and love for people. This is why we were made. People need us. God has blessed all of us with so many blessings, such as our health, to be used as a blessings to others. Lets strive harder to get out in the world and let God use these blessings for His people. We never know when we might be stripped of it. His heart beats for His people....and He desires to use us satisfy His longing of meeting their needs.

"I was sick and you looked after me....I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me." Matthew 25: 36, 40.

We love you, Austin!
