Whosoever Beach Trip 2009

We, as a leadership team, had the awesome priviledge last weekend to spend some time at the beach to fellowship, worship, unite with other leadership teams, and be poured into by three of the most incredible speakers/teachers/pastors from Birmingham. Andy Heis with Generation in Gardendale (http://www.generation145.com), Pastor Mark Correll with Mark Correll Ministries (http://markcorrell.org), and our very own Matt Pitt shared their hearts and their wisdom with us about what it looks like to be chosen. Matthew explains to us that many called, but few are chosen. After each service, we were challenged with living a CHOSEN lifestyle, one that doesnt look like everyone else's. Our leadership team is confident that we were CHOSEN for such a time as this. We except the challenge and not only strive to operate in the position God has chosen for us in this ministry, but we desire nothing less than to fulfil His puprose for each one us. He has sent us into battle and for His name sake, we will be victorious over everything Hes entrusted us with.......this ministry, souls, each other, and most importantly HIM.

Prayer Breakfast

We had a great time this morning eating a delicious breakfast and fellowshiping with a handful of Godly moms who are opening up their lives to mentor and disciple us; so that we have the opportunity to see Godly marriages, parenting, relationships, ect at a first hand glance. We cant thank yall enough for offering up much of your time to pour into us. All of you are such a blessing and much needed in each of our lives. We love You!

Making the Most....

.......of Every Season

Due to the unbearable weather the past week and a half, some of our girls were inspired to enjoy the below freezing temperature in some snow. After the leadership meeting last Friday night, we loaded up two big SUVs and headed to Atlanta to do a little snow tubing. We packed our snow pants and jackets, thick boots, mittens, and a hat and hit the "slopes"...or most like it HILLS . For such a random activity for the South, we had a blast and highly recommend anyone looking for something fun to do over a weekend to enjoy it. It was a fun, cheap weekend. While waiting in the lines to head to the top, we met lots of friends that will accompanying us at the Basement in the next few Tuesdays. When you get twelve girls together who are IN LOVE with Jesus and not ashamed of telling about it, the whole park will either know Jesus or know about the Basement so they can come experience Him to get to know Him.

As we were heading to dinner before our 9:00PM reservations, it REALLY began to snow. Not just a flurry here and there, but it SNOWED. See how good God is? It may seem small and insignificant, but He wanted our trip to be more fun than we planned on. And it definitely was. Skyline Review

Saturday night we headed out to downtown to a club in Birmingham to hang out, worship, and meet new people. Yes, a club. A club that consisted of Jesus! We, as a ministry and followers of Christ, are extremely aware of what we are up against in reaching this generation. If kids or young adults are not in church, then most likely; they're spending most of their time on the weekends in the clubs and bars. If not in the club scene, then they're probably searching for something to do on the weekends. Our goal and desire is provide an atmosphere similar to one that "appeals" to these kids to give them somewhere to hang out at on the weekends. The day is coming where Jesus and worship music is going to be the cool way to "club," and we're here do something about it. Thank you to everyone who came out and joined us this weekend. We had a ball fellowshippig, eating, and worshipping with you.

We've been out CAROLING!

Friday night after a brief leadership meeting, the team loaded up in a big bus and multiple vehicles and sang our way around town. From Vestavia back to Trussville, we delightfully interrupted the household of six of our wonderful partners that faithfully support our ministry. We love each of our partners SO much and we are beyond thankful for all of you, therefore don't be alarmed if one night soon your doorbell rings with seventy guys and girls standing at your door step singing a little Christmas tune. We are blessed by you, Basement partners, and we could not do this without you. We hope to make it around to your home to personally express that through song. If not, never question our thankfulness for you. We could not go day to day with your support. Your a BIG part of this ministry! We love you and Merry Christmas

We LOVE Christmas! Christmas lights, Christmas trees, Christmas music, cold weather, fireplaces, shopping, Christmas parties, food, Christmas PJ's, family, friends, gifts, etc...everything about this time of year is so exciting. Our challenge for you this season is to somehow be a blessing to someone besides yourself. That is what most of us need....a redirected focus off of ourselves. It so easy to get caught up in making sure we get everything off that list. Lets trash the list of things we want, and ask God to give us a want to bless someone else. Are wanting and getting things bad? Absolutely not! But when you focus on others, you receive so much more than the things you could ever ask for. Try it this year, and watch how God pour blessings to the point of true satisfaction.

Come As You Are

Designers or rags, make-up or not, thin or overweight, short or tall, lost or found; hallelujah God has called us to come to Him just as we are. If we waited till we "had it all together" to sit as His feet, we'd exhaust ourselves right into the hand of the enemy. Isaiah 64 says that our righteousness is a rag at the feet of Jesus. Therefore, our very best is nothing to Him. Don't be confused..He is extremely proud of us! But a lot of times, we wear ourselves flat out by trying to please Jesus with our actions. He wants our hearts. He wasn't just tickling our feathers when he mentions in 1 Samuel 16 that men make look at our outward appearance, whether its the physical appearance of our actions or the way we look; but God looks at our hearts. Rest in knowing that He loves our filth. Lets quit trying to "get everything right" and ask God to do a work in our hearts this week....the treasure of our hearts produce good (Matthew 6:45).

From butterflies to the entire cast from the Flintstones, we saw just about every creature and character roaming around the home of the Williams. Thank you, Williams' family for opening up your house and putting so much time and effort in making your house look as festive as possible. From fog machines and strobe lights to great food and fellowship, a Halloween party could not have gotten any better than that. Hope everyone had a safe and fun Halloween.

What a fun/busy/sleepless weekend we had as a ministry! From painting and building a stage set to entertaining and spending precious time with our new friends from Virginia. Speaking on behalf of most of the Basement team, sleep was NOT apart of our schedules this weekend. Tuesday night was our Halloween Bash and our first filming with God TV. Therefore, our entire team was put to work with so much to do and get ready for. Thursday afternoon part of our team gathered at the church to begin working on the set for the stage. They aimlessly worked every day up to the night of the service. God has chosen some the most dedicated, hard-working, self-sacrificing people to make Tuesday nights possible. We love our team and believe we have the BEST of the BEST....from security and nursery to Matt and the drama team. Thank you, thank you, thank you for sacrificing so much of yourselves and allowing the Lord to use you to make His purpose prevail.

In the midst of the busyness, we had some awesome guest come in town from Virginia. Terri Simmons and Mary Goochee , from the 700 Club, took off work and drove eleven hours to come hang out with us crazy Birmingham, Basement people. They were such a blessing, and words can not describe how much we enjoyed their company. We sent them off on Wednesday morning and instantly began to brainstorm the quickest way to get them to Birmingham....permanently :-). We miss both of them so much already and look forward to our next visit together. They pour much of their time and their hearts in serving CBN, and we are so honored to walk along side them while enhancing the Kingdom and loving God's people together. Mary and Terri, we love you so much and can not wait to see you again. Thank you for sharing your time and your hearts with us. We were blessed....to say the least.

And again, thank you to the Basement Team and Basement family. It is a privileged to serve you and serve with you. We love you so much!

Journey Through Revelations

After the High Fly Conference on Saturday night, about 45 of us packed up and traveled to Pell City for Revelation Walk. We had a great time not only spending most of the night with one another, but we all left a little more enlighten about what will take place to non-believers when Jesus comes back for us. For most people, Revelations is hard book to dive into. Therefore, a lot of us lack knowledge in that area of God's word. Every scripture is God breathed, but as followers of Christ, we could be so much more effective in reaching the lost if we were better equipped in knowing the consequences of refusing live for God. We don't have it all figured out and never will till we reach our destiny, Heaven. But, we were able to catch a glimpse of what non-believers will experience when Jesus comes to get us, and believe....you do not want to be left behind.

Thank You Cox Family!

Our six week series of Return to the Garden study ended this past Sunday night. So, to celebrate and recap everything that God has done in us over this period of time, Christie and Wade Cox had all of us girls over for dinner. They were so sweet to open their beautiful home up to a bunch girls who are full of energy and leave nothing to be said. We ate LOTS of pizza and too many sweet, played silly games, and learned some things about each other that we neeeeever knew...... We had such a great time, and we really are SO thankful at the place God has brought each of us. Each season in our lives look completely different, but the cool thing is that God NEVER leaves where we're at. No matter who we are, what we've done, or where we've been. He meets us exactly where we are, picks us up, and takes us through an adventure of life what we could experience on our own.

Thank you so much, Christie, for your sweet, motherly heart and your hospitality. And Wade, thank you for allowing 30 girls to invade your house for a couple of hours..... hope we didn't leave too many hormones behind. We love yall and words can not express how blessed we are to have you apart of our lives. You are such a vital part of this ministry, and we could not do it without you. Thanks again and we love you!
