Its About That Time

Some of us girls have the privilege of sharing in one of the most exciting seasons most girls will experience in their life time. This time next week, Kimbo will go from a Miss to a Mrs, a Smith to a Frank; and even more overwhelming than that......she'll be a tad bit closer to experiencing a deeper glimpse of Christ's love for His people. We are so thankful for Kimberly's life and not only would this ministry not be the same, but some of our individuals lives wouldn't be either. She has poured and poured into so many of us and the fruit we have today, we thank God for using her to bring so much of us to the surface.
This life is a beautiful testimony of Jesus at work through Kimberly's life. Kimberly met Rebeca, saw God's pursuit and favor on Beca's life, and decided to selflessly and sacrificially join in on the purpose God destined for her. She disciplined her, loved her unconditionally, and purely allowed Jesus to be seen through her. Beca along with so many other lives will never be the same because of her.

Kimbo, Jesus is so attracted in you. We pray that you and Heath will be more powerful as a team and more people will have the privilege of coming to know Jesus personally because of your passion and commitment to Him. We love you so much!

Jacki and Jon are engaged! We are so excited about the new things God is doing in their life! We love you guys and are so proud of both of you!

Another Engagement!

Another wedding is in the works and on the way! Kristy Cloud and Jon Sloan will be getting married in August of this year. Kristy is a pure testimony of James 1. This scripture tells us that the testing of your faith will produce endurance, and once that endurance is gain we will be perfect and complete lacking in NOTHING.

Kristy went through years of suffering because of a previous relationship that resulted in abuse to not only her, but to her three year old little girl. Kristy escaped the relationship, but in the past year has still been dealing with this situation. Because of the court's decision, her three year old little girl is required to visit her dad every other weekend. Can you imagine the pain, grief, fear, etc. of having to let go of your daughter for an entire wekeend knowing that the same hands that are guilty of abuse are responsible for "taking care" of your child for three whole days? Not a weekend went by where Kristy would shed many tears about having to pass her child on to her father. But through the tears and unbearable heartache, her faith increased and she continued to walk and believe in God's faithfulness. She still believes that God is going to redeem this circumstance and until then she clings to the promise of His word. Kristy clings to knowing that God has His best interest for her life and that

"if she could see the big picture that God sees, shed make the same decisions for her life"

Someone that has and somewhat is still walking through every mother's nightmare still has the faith to believe that God's hand is on her and her child's life. Because of gaining all the perseverance she carries with her, God has given her the most amazing, Godly handsome man ever girl dreams about. Jon is her prince that God has been saving just for her and the daddy her little girls never had.

When the trials and tribulations storm through your life, know that God has something so incredible on the other side. Kristy will be soon be the wife of an incredible pastor and she will be able to use her story to minister to women of all ages as she serves and stands next to her man.

Kristy, we are beyond proud of you. And the steadfastness you've obtained through your circumstances is encrouagement and a testimony for all of us to live by.

Two people falling in love is probably the most beautiful thing one can ever witness. Marriage is one of the many great gifts that Jesus will allow some of us to experience during our time here on Earth. All throughout scripture we read about His deep love for the church. Just as we have those people in our lives that we love with everything in us Christ has someone to. Its you and its me.

The church is HIS love.

The church makes HIS stomach turn with butterflies.

It makes Him to do crazy thing.....ie DYING.

Loving a significant other, a friend, or a family member is a tiny fraction of how much He loves us. God has allowed us to get to a small earthly glimpse of the deep, unconditional, self-less love that He has for the church through marriage. Marriage is the only repsentation that we have that express the unity and love of Christ and the church. Marriage is a beautiful sacred thing and we are so excited for these two couples who will get to experience this gift from God.

We are so happy for you and can not wait to see what God does through your marriages. We love you girls!

Haley Williams and Michael Graydon

We have another wedding coming soon!! Michael Graydon proposed to Haley Williams Thursday, December 18, 2008 after dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. He blind folded Haley to a piece of property that belongs to her grandmother and popped the question. Haley and Michael have been serving in our ministry for several years. We love both of them so much, and we are so happy to be apart of this special time in their lives. Congratulations to both of you!

Waiting on "the one"....

WAITING ON "THE ONE"......
To trust means to have confidence; hope… Things work out if one only trusts. I love this description of trust because it opened my eyes to the power of fully trusting in God’s perfect plan. As a single girl, one of the most difficult tasks is to trust that God is preparing that Mr. Right without any help from us. Having the opportunity to speak with high school girls, I’ve found that most fall into the trap of trying to make things happen.

We’ve all done it; you see that cute guy down the hall and you have no reason to be down there and you’ll probably be late for class, but you push through the crowd and position yourself at just the right timing so he can see your outfit when he walks by. I’m smiling because we do it all the time. The problem is that women were created to be the beauty of the Lord and even at times when you don’t feel beautiful, you are, and you can make things happen. Any one of us, at any time, can give up this exhausting search for “the one” and find a pretty good guy and end up another divorce statistic. These couples end up spending all their energy focusing on saving a dying marriage instead of being a team who spends their time on the kingdom-the whole purpose of marriage. When we rush, when we settle, we miss out on God’s perfect plan, and in my opinion, to be genuinely loved is something that most women never experience in their lifetime; even in marriage, I believe most never experience the fullness of love.

I challenge you to really trust; stop and think about this sentence…Things work out if one only trusts...Realize the power having complete dependence on God in this area of your life will bring. When you stop trying to make things happen, you take the focus off yourself and put the focus on the heart of the father, allowing Him alone to make things happen. Stay focused on His heart, guard your heart with ALL diligence (that takes effort), and God promises He will add all these things unto you. Love will find you, but we must first love God with all our hearts and love ourselves, just as we are because that is who “the one” will be looking for.

Our beloved, Kimberly Smith is engaged! She is one of our original "Basmentees." She has been here since the VERY beginning when the Basement was still meeting in the bottom of Matt's house. She is a HUGE blessings to all of us who have the priviledge of serving together with her through this ministry. Kimbo has pour much of her time and heart into all of our lives and into the many of lives that have walked through the door at the Basement every Tuesday night. Kimbo, you are so beautiful and we love so much! We thank God for you and for allowing us the honor to know you and learn so much from you. Congratulations! We cant wait to share this special day with you.

Another Newlywed

Congratulations to both Hollands!

Some of you may recognize this beautiful face from the Sanctify counter on Tuesday nights at the Basement or that handsome groom in the driver seat may look a little familiar. Caylan Holland is extremely faithful and dedicated through serving the Basement every Tuesday through selling our Sanctify gear. And Tyler Holland is the brother of Casey "Byrd" "DJ Slimz" Holland. They got married on October 11, 2008 and we are so excited to celebrate another wedding in our ministry. In case your confused, they both married with the last name Holland. So Yes, Caylan is now CAYLAN HOLLAND HOLLAND. As far as we know, they're not relate. :-) Haha no, they were not related until now that God has brought them together. These two people love God and have been seeking Him with everything inside of them for years now. We love them SO much and cant wait to see the power behind these two strong believer as one.

Dun Dun Dundun- Dun Dun DunDun

Hope you haven't been re-reading the title over and over again trying to figure out what "Dun Dun" means. Since the theme over the past week has been dealing with brides, weddings, and marriage; we thought we'd be a little creative. Sorry if you missed the pun and got confused.


But as Matt spoke on Tuesday night, it seems to be that time of year of everyone deciding to plan a wedding and get married. And if you're not planning an actual wedding, your ears are either burning from all the talk or your mind is fried from meditating on the thoughts of 'when me?' Let your mind rest for a second and believe, that as we speak, God is preparing the most perfect guy for us. He doesn't need our help nor our waisted energy of trying to prepare the time, place, or process of how we will meet. Hes got it all figured out. He figured it out before we were ever conceived. He wants our energy devoted to him. The more energy we give to Him, the more He can prepare us for the 'magical' moment most of us are waiting for.

Does God define our life as 'up-right?' Is He withholding blessings from us because of deliberate sin? Lets ask God to give us clean hands and a pure heart, so that He doesnt hold back any good thing from us. We want the fullness of all His blessings. We all want His best and we all want His blessings....are we willing to sacrafice by living set apart from this world. Everything about us should say "GLORY" to Him. A high quality life demands high quality blessings. We all desire a guy who is of good quality....live it to receieve it.
