Innocent Even Though Proven Guilty

Imagine something with me...you're on trial, all the evidence is laid out, the jury just went out & you're waiting for the verdict...

You've all heard the saying "innocent til proven guilty." We are all guilty of some sin, but Jesus came & died on the Cross & if we if accept Him, then our debt is paid in full. You know, why people say sin is equal in God's eyes? Sin is disobedience. When we do wrong, all God sees is disobedience. We as a society have put sin into categories. Jesus gives several examples of where someone was guilty but was shown mercy instead of judgment. Where He says, "you're innocent even though proven guilty."

The woman caught in adultery (John 8:1-11,) the woman at the well (John 4:1-45,) & the prodigal son (Luke 15:11-31.) Each one of these examples are where people saw either an adulterous woman, an outcast or a wild child. But Jesus saw them as valuable, someone who He chooses & fights for every day. All 3 of these examples, people were proven guilty by the law. Have you ever done anything that you thought you were guilty & couldn't be forgiven? I want to tell you something that you've probably heard a million times over when we become a child of His, He doesn't see you as what we were, but as a new creation in Him (2 Cor. 5:17) & as the person He knows we can become. Once someone has accepted Jesus, we need to see them as a new creation...even though we may have known them before Christ (Acts 11:9b.)

You been brought into His courtroom, your sins are now exposed; your life is an open book before Him. He sees you as you really are, but the verdict is in...INNOCENT THOUGH PROVEN GUILTY. Don't dwell on your past when Jesus has forgiven it (Isaiah 43:18.) Remember we love you & YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL!

Dun Dun Dundun- Dun Dun DunDun

Hope you haven't been re-reading the title over and over again trying to figure out what "Dun Dun" means. Since the theme over the past week has been dealing with brides, weddings, and marriage; we thought we'd be a little creative. Sorry if you missed the pun and got confused.


But as Matt spoke on Tuesday night, it seems to be that time of year of everyone deciding to plan a wedding and get married. And if you're not planning an actual wedding, your ears are either burning from all the talk or your mind is fried from meditating on the thoughts of 'when me?' Let your mind rest for a second and believe, that as we speak, God is preparing the most perfect guy for us. He doesn't need our help nor our waisted energy of trying to prepare the time, place, or process of how we will meet. Hes got it all figured out. He figured it out before we were ever conceived. He wants our energy devoted to him. The more energy we give to Him, the more He can prepare us for the 'magical' moment most of us are waiting for.

Does God define our life as 'up-right?' Is He withholding blessings from us because of deliberate sin? Lets ask God to give us clean hands and a pure heart, so that He doesnt hold back any good thing from us. We want the fullness of all His blessings. We all want His best and we all want His blessings....are we willing to sacrafice by living set apart from this world. Everything about us should say "GLORY" to Him. A high quality life demands high quality blessings. We all desire a guy who is of good quality....live it to receieve it.

The People God Uses

Have you wondered if God could ever use you? Do you think that you’ve messed up one to many times? But God can & will use you. His Word says so…

…think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. He chose the lowly things of this world & despised things - & the things that are not – to nullify the things that are… - 1 Corinthians 1:26-28.

God isn’t going to look a person over for medals, diplomas, or awards…but scars. God isn’t interested in your ability inasmuch as your availability. Just look at some of the people Jesus picked. Take a look at some of His disciples, one denied Him (Matthew 26:69-75), another betrayed Him (Matthew 26:47-56.) He used Saul who persecuted Christians (Acts 9:15.) An outcast led her town to Him (John 4:39.) A man who ran away from God, He received a second chance (Jonah 3:1.) He used a prophet who was shy (Jeremiah 1:6.) The man after God’s on heart sinned, yet after he repented God still used him (2 Samuel 11.) The Bible is proof that it’s filled with imperfect people. God doesn’t use “perfect” people because no one could relate to them. God uses people just like me & you. Don’t ever let the devil trick you into thinking that God could never use you. He wants to use you. You are beautiful & you have a story to tell others. God can & wants to use you…if you’re willing…

A Walk To Remember

Life is like a coin; you can spend it any way you wish, but you can only spend it once. We were created to serve God, serve others & keep ourselves in the background. Remember it’s about Him…not us. American President Woodrow Wilson once pointed out that “a man’s rootage is more important than his leafage.” What others see are the leaves, the outside. What they can’t see is the roots, the values & principles that ground a person. Character is grown from a good system of roots…people of character live from the inside out. Their convictions guide their actions. Their principles govern their lives. People of character have both the strength & grace to give their best to the world. To their enemy, they give forgiveness. To an outsider, understanding. To a friend, their heart. To their children, a good example. To their mates, faithfulness. To their parents, respect. To themselves, gentleness. To all people, kindness. Strong roots produce a strong character. And a strong character is needed to give one’s best to life. When the tree’s roots are well tended, the leaves will be full & healthy.

Everyone has a birth date & a time of death, but it’s the “dash” that separates the two that counts. For that dash represents all the time we spend on this earth. It doesn’t matter how much we own: the cars, the houses, the cash, etc… What matters is how we live & love & how we spend our dash. So, when your eulogy is being read with your life’s actions for the world to know…would you be pleased with the things they say about how you spent your dash? The way you live your life is the picture you portray of Jesus. Are you leading others to the Cross? Will people find you faithful? What will make your walk “a walk to remember?”
